LRS CiS - Custom 3D-Printed Acetabulum

LRS, together with Dr. Duwayne Vermaak (Orthopaedic Surgeon at Life Groenkloof Hospital), designed a custom Ti6Al4V acetabulum implant for a patient with a structurally compromised acetabulum.

The design of the implant was based on the patient’s CT scan. This was then used to 3D print the implant in Ti6Al4V with a trabecular mesh to ensure osseointegration with the remaining bone.
